Your phone is the remote.

A real touchpad and a full keyboard for the computer in the other room. Everything on Windows: screen, files, the lot. On a Mac, Bluetooth is enough. Nothing to install.

Where it actually gets used

Four rooms. One phone.

The couch

Skip, pause, turn it down. Without finding the remote.

Video remote talks to whatever is playing on the PC: YouTube, Netflix, TikTok. The screen can stay off. You stay on the sofa.

The Mac, or the laptop that isn’t yours

Pair as a keyboard and mouse. macOS already knows what that is.

Bluetooth mode is not a special Any Command protocol. The phone appears as an ordinary Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, so a MacBook, an iMac, a locked work PC and a conference-room machine all take it. No app, no server, no admin rights on the other end.

You get the pointer, typing, shortcuts, volume and media keys. Screen sharing and file transfer still need software answering on the computer, so those stay on Windows with the server.

What Bluetooth can and cannot do

Still in bed

Wake the PC, then drive it.

Wake-on-LAN starts a sleeping Windows machine from the other end of the house. A few seconds later the touchpad is live. No walking over to tap the power button.

Pair once with a PIN from the server. After that it reconnects on its own.

While you game

CPU, memory, disk. On the phone, not over the HUD.

The performance monitor updates while the big screen stays the game. Kill a frozen process from the task manager, or pick up the virtual gamepad for titles that never shipped with a controller.

How it reaches the computer

Three links. Two very different jobs.

Two ways in

Pick the computer in front of you.

Windows, the full product

Server, app, PIN. About a minute.

  1. Install the server on the PC you want to control. It sits in the tray and shows a PIN. Download for Windows
  2. Install the app on the phone from Google Play. Same Wi-Fi for the first pairing.
  3. Type the PIN once. No account, no sign-up, no email. After that it reconnects on its own.

Mac, or a PC you cannot touch

Bluetooth. Skip the server.

  1. Open Remote Control and choose Bluetooth.
  2. On the computer, add a Bluetooth keyboard. System Settings on a Mac, Bluetooth settings on Windows.
  3. Confirm the code. Look for the phone’s own name, not “Any Command”. The pad goes live as soon as they pair.
Pairing, step by step

Before you install

The usual objections.

Does it work with a Mac?

Yes, over Bluetooth. The phone pairs as a standard keyboard and mouse, which macOS already knows how to talk to. Pointer, typing, shortcuts, volume and media keys, with nothing installed on the Mac.

Screen sharing, file transfer, the task manager and the rest need a program on the computer to answer, and that program is the Windows server. So the full product is still Windows. The Mac is a first-class target for the pad and the keyboard.

Do I need to install anything on the computer?

For Wi-Fi and internet control on Windows, yes: the free server does the work on the PC side. It runs in the tray and can start with Windows.

In Bluetooth mode you do not. Windows and macOS already speak Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, so nothing gets installed at all.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Wi-Fi mode keeps every byte on your own network, and Bluetooth needs no network whatsoever. Internet relay is the only mode where traffic leaves the house, and it is opt-in.

Why does Windows Defender warn about the installer?

The installer is digitally signed, but SmartScreen also weighs how many people have run a given signed build. A fresh release starts with no reputation, so Windows shows a caution the first few thousand times it is installed.

Choose More info, then Run anyway. The download page lists the file hash if you want to check it first.

Is there a PIN because I need an account?

No. Any Command has no accounts, no sign-up and no email. The PIN is generated by the server on your own PC so a stranger on the same Wi-Fi cannot pair with it. You type it once.

Which versions are supported?

Android 8.0 and later for the app. Windows 10 or 11 for the server. Bluetooth mode needs Android 9 or later. That is when Android learned to be a keyboard and mouse. On the other end, anything that already accepts a Bluetooth input device, including macOS.

Is it really free?

The app and the server are free. Remote control, video remote, Wake-on-LAN, performance monitor and clipboard sync stay free with no time limit. Screen sharing, file transfer, the gamepad and a few others are premium, and each can be tried by watching a short ad. Full breakdown
